April 15, 2005

This evening Colleen and Chris made their first ever trip to First Horizon Park in Greensboro to see the new and improved Greensboro Grasshoppers and the new downtown stadium. It was here that we came up with the idea for this blog, which is why Colleen is going back to record it to be forever preserved in blog memory. Being April, it was, of course, freezing, however, it was here??? that the points system was born. For those who have wandered by the board and want to know what the points system means, this is the best way to explain it: You know how you say to someone "you get points for that" or "you just went up in my book"? -- Well, we keep track. There really is no rhyme or reason to the points system (just ask Colleen); you just have to accept it.

Not much is remembered about this game other than this game was ?@??#@? cold, and we don't agree with the temperature posted in the outfield; it was WAAAAY colder that that. Colleen also remembers the impression that the mascots were pretty lame (and why are there 3???), that it was odd the PA announcer walked amongst the crowd, and that the game went to extra innings and we watched that from the concourse as there was a little shelter from the wind. --POSTED BY COLLEEN
