Oct. 13, 2005

Colleen and Chris joined for NBA preseason action at LJVM Coliseum as the Washington Wizards battled the San Antonio Spurs. The game marked the return of Tim Duncan to Winston-Salem. Chris noted that Wizards was spelled wrong outside the arena (Wizzards) and Colleen observed that San Antonio was spelled wrong on a scoreboard graphic (San Antnio). LJVM lost points for this. Colleen and Chris moved to better seats before the second quarter, and this was Colleen's first basketball game at the arena. Colleen and Chris began working football references into the game, as a number of 15-yard penalties and first downs were signaled. This made absolutely no sense whatsoever, which of course made it funny. Chris pointed out to Colleen that the Spurs' Tony Parker dates actress Eva Longoria, and he drew a laugh when Parker hit a 3-pointer by saying "Eva Longoria for 3! Good!" On the long drive to the game, Colleen and Chris shared a philosophical discussion that everything in life is a risk. So relax and have fun. Chris suggested the Lexington BBQ Festival as a next adventure. Colleen and Chris will keep you posted. -- POSTED BY CHRIS
