After months of exchanging web links about cow milking at the Dixie Classic Fair and text messages about the triumphs (and failures) of Jimmie Johnson, Colleen and Chris were reunited this afternoon at Chili's. Chris certainly dressed for the occasion, wearing a shirt and tie, but then Colleen realized that it wasn't Friday, and this was probably just work attire, so she didn't feel so special. Colleen and Chris were greated by an enthusiastic senior who asked them if they wanted smoking or non. (That enthusiastic senior was later seen washing the windows.) Colleen had half a turkey sandwich and some broccoli cheese soup, which was good, although really didn't taste like broccoli cheese soup - more like the tomatoes, peppers and garnish on top of it. The adequate meal was saved, however, by the totally awesome chocolate chip brownie sundae, which, as Chris pointed out later, was an audible called at the line of scrimmage. The initial mudslide choice was ruled out because of an illegible receiver (ie. walnuts, which Chris apparently doesn't like (note that, fair blog readers) and Colleen's not supposed to have). Colleen then pointed out that really it was CHRIS who was quarterbacking this play because Colleen presented him with the choices of the chocolate chip brownie sundae OR an apple dessert. During their meal, Chris and Colleen discussed important issues like taxes, the war on terror and how the Buffalo Sabres (undefeated!) were doing better than the Carolina Hurricanes. (OK, so the first two things didn't really happen. We're not that deep.) Chris said he wanted to get over to Raleigh to see Lord Stanley's Cup. Chris and Colleen also discussed how the station really hadn't changed without her -- even her desk is still available, although Colleen admitted calling her old number and the voicemail message she left when she left didn't pick up. Finally, we realized all good things had to come to an end, and Colleen sent Chris back to work to do the 15th webcast of the day (at least, it sure seemed like it!) The food gets seven Reeses cups. The company gets ten. -- POSTED BY COLLEEN
